Changing engines

Latest news about the game!

I'll be changing the game engine. Even though Adventure Creator is pretty good (an asset for the Unity engine) is too complex to use for me, at this point at least.

So I switched to Visionaire Studio, so much easier to use and learn!

Later this month I'll finally show you some screenshots of the game, both me and my beloved XIIIO are almost ready with the whole story. Hurray!

Stay tuned for more news about the game!

Expanding the universe

Oops! Oh, my... I was so busy lately I forgot all about my blog! I'm so sorry.

Anyway, I have some more information about the game.
So let's talk about the game's universe:

Initially, the game had a very simple, very short story, but thanks to my significant other, XIIIO, the story grow stronger... and the plot thickened.
But guess what? The original universe of the game has expanded even more!
Now not only you'll find a deep story with lovable, complex characters, but a whole universe in which the game takes place.

What does this universe contains?
You'll find the origins to the races and world of the game and main characters, their whole history, culture and even their technology!
Yep! A whole universe was created to have the best gaming experience for you all! All thanks to my darling XIIIO and I, Blackened Krono.

I'm sure you'll all going to love this game.

Next time I'll tell you more about the Puzzle Bosses, and Extra Bosses.

See ya soon!

Let's talk about Bosses

My, my! It's been so long since I uploaded my blog! I'm sorry, everyone, been quite busy with some side-projects and conventions.

Anyway, let's cut to the chase!

So... the game will feature boss battles. Puzzle-bosses, that is.
How will they work?
Well, they'll be QTE based, but not just any old QTEs, they're going to be more like in a "rhythm game" style. You know? Like a long sequence of commands you have to press correctly in order to success. Don't worry, though! There'll be fair checkpoints between long and difficult sequences, so you don't have to repeat all over again from the beginning if you fail.

We want challenging gameplay, not a frustrating one, right?

Both XIIIO and I are planning now these Puzzle-bosses, all the designs, names and even the music for each boss battle! Each theme will be unique for each creature, as well as the setting and the sequence commands.
The game will feature a total of 8 main Puzzle-bosses.

Ah! But that's not all, guys! There'll be, at least, 3 more Puzzle-bosses. Secret ones, hidden along the journey and story. A little bonus for you all, think you an find'em all?

Soon I'll write more about the bosses and details of the gameplay of this lovely game.

Stay tuned, folks!

The Dream Team!

Sorry for the little hiatus on the posts, I've been quite busy with some IRL problems that, I hope, will soon be over.

Anyway, let's talk about the Dream Team of this game.
My significant other -that is XIIIO- and I (Blackened Krono) are the responsables of this game's development. We both are creating the story and their lovable characters -including their designs, music choices, puzzles and story branches.

I'm the one who'll make all the graphics for the game, such as: backgrounds, programming, animations, playable characters, enemies, objects, NPCs and more. All of it will be supervised by XIIIO, too, to obtain the max quality for all of the game.

That's all really nice, right? But what about the music?
Easy.
I've commissioned most of the game's OST, so out composer is no one else than the amazing Pengosolvent! you can check out their work right HERE, also you can listen to this marvelous OST here, too.

I'll probably commission more music for the game soon, there's so much work to be done.

Thank you all for following this game development blog. Soon I'll show ya some screenshots of the work in progress of the game.

Tech demo?

As I'm practicing with this new software for my game, I've decided to create a little tech demo for it, not only for practice some of the mechanics that the game will have, but to understand better how to use this software and avoid any future problems with it.

This tech demo, and the main game, will include:
-Complex QTEs for boss battles and certain puzzles (Yes! There'll be boss battles)
-Item crafting system through a series of "recipes".
-Multiple playable characters.
-Different paths to choose from, each will lead into different endings.

I have to practice all of these to make this game a perfect project, plus customize the HUDs and inventory menus.
Hopefully I'll post some screenshots of all of this soon.

A new start.

I'll use this blog as my game develop journal.

A couple of months back I started working on my first videogame, but recently I had to change the software for it. Now I'm currently using Adventure Creator for it, getting to know it better so then I can properly start the game developing as espected.

I'll give ya all more updates soon!
